How to Use Autoblow: Your First Session, Step by Step

By Autoblow EU· Last updated 15 juni 2026

How to use Autoblow comes down to four things: charge it fully first, pick one of the built-in modes (no internet needed), apply a generous amount of water-based lube, and let the machine do the work. Both the AI Ultra and the VacuGlide 2 work completely offline straight out of the box. Going online unlocks extra features but is entirely optional for your first session.

How to use Autoblow: what you need to know before you start

There is a temptation with any new device to dive straight in. Resist it for about 90 minutes. Not because setup is complicated, it is not, but because a dead battery halfway through your first session is the most avoidable disappointment there is.

The AI Ultra and VacuGlide 2 both ship with some charge, but never enough for a full session. Before anything else, plug the machine into the included USB-C cable and let it charge to 100%. You will know it is full when the indicator light changes, usually from amber to white or green depending on the firmware version.

While it is charging, reading this guide is a reasonable use of 10 minutes.

What you will need for your first session:

  • The Autoblow itself, fully charged
  • A water-based lubricant (not silicone, not oil, more on this below)
  • A flat surface or somewhere to sit comfortably
  • Optionally: a towel nearby for cleanup

That is it. No app, no account, no Wi-Fi. Your first session can be completely offline.

Charging the AI Ultra and VacuGlide 2

Charging is the same on both machines. The USB-C port is on the base or lower body of the device. Plug in, wait, use.

A full charge from empty takes roughly 90 minutes on the AI Ultra and around 2 hours on the VacuGlide 2. The VacuGlide 2 has a larger battery to power its vacuum suction system, so slightly longer is normal.

Four things that make a difference:

  • Charge with the device off if you can. It charges faster and the battery handles it better over time.
  • Avoid charging during use. Both machines are designed to run on battery only during a session. The power draw during operation is high enough that charging simultaneously stresses the circuit.
  • Charging overnight is fine. Neither machine overcharges. Once full, the indicator light stabilises and the device sits at 100% without issue.
  • The cable matters. Use the included cable or a quality USB-C cable rated for at least 2A. A thin phone-charger cable can slow the charge significantly.

If the light does not come on when you plug in, check both ends of the cable and try a different power source. The most common culprit is a low-output USB port on a laptop rather than a fault with the device.

Fitting the sleeve: do this before anything else

Both machines come with a sleeve pre-installed from the factory. You do not need to insert one before first use. But knowing how the sleeve sits, and how to check it, saves you from an awkward mid-session adjustment.

On the Autoblow AI Ultra:

The sleeve sits inside a central barrel. It should feel snug with no loose movement when you press it in from both ends. A sleeve that is inserted crookedly will feel uneven in use and can cause the machine to vibrate off-surface. Check that it is flush with the opening on both sides.

On the VacuGlide 2:

The sleeve is integrated with the suction chamber. There is slightly less to adjust here, since the vacuum cap creates the seal. Make sure the cap is locked (you will hear a soft click) before switching on.

If you want to explore different sleeve options later, the Autoblow sleeve guide covers all available types, materials and what fits each machine. For now, the factory-installed one is the right place to start.

One honest tip: wash the sleeve before first use. A quick rinse with warm water and a drop of toy cleaner takes two minutes and removes any residue from the manufacturing process. It is a good habit to build from day one anyway.

Water-based lube: the non-negotiable part

Lube is not optional with these machines. Running an Autoblow dry even for a short time is uncomfortable at best and speeds up sleeve wear at worst. You need lube, and it needs to be the right kind.

Use water-based lubricant only. Never silicone, never oil, never lotion or anything with a conditioner base. The reason is the sleeve material: the TPE and silicone blends used in Autoblow sleeves degrade in contact with silicone or oil-based products. That degradation is not always visible at first, but it affects texture and shortens the sleeve's life noticeably.

How much? More than you think. For a first session, try a palmful roughly the size of a 50-cent coin, applied directly to the opening of the sleeve. If you are not sure whether you used enough, you probably did not. The machine handles the rest.

Reapplying: For longer sessions, a second application partway through makes a real difference. The machine's motion tends to work the lube down over time. A small bottle nearby is easier than stopping and fumbling for one.

Avoid anything that tingles, warms, or has a flavour. These additives can be fine on their own but they sometimes react with sleeve materials or cause irritation with repeated use. Plain, unflavoured water-based is the safest pick.

If you ordered lube alongside the device and it arrived in the same discreet unbranded box, it is already compatible.

Picking a mode for your first session

The AI Ultra has 10 built-in modes, ranging from slow strokes to rapid oscillations to rhythmic patterns designed around different sensations. The VacuGlide 2 has its own set of modes that combine stroke speed with variable suction intensity.

For a first session, the honest advice is: start slow. Mode 1 or 2 on either machine is a reasonable place to begin. The instinct to jump to the highest setting immediately is understandable, but a slower mode lets you feel what the machine actually does and find the position and angle that works for you.

You do not need to memorise this. The machine responds instantly to button presses and the controls are marked on the body. After two or three uses you will not need to look.

Offline vs online modes: Everything in the table above works without Wi-Fi, without an app, without any setup. The AI companion modes, video sync and the film library come into play once you connect online, but they are separate from the built-in modes and not relevant for your first session. Get comfortable with the offline modes first.

A realistic first-time walkthrough

Here is how a first session actually goes, without the product-description polish:

  1. 1Device is fully charged. Good.
  2. 2Give the sleeve a quick rinse and shake off the water. It does not need to be dry.
  3. 3Apply lube generously to the opening of the sleeve.
  4. 4Switch the machine on with a long press. Give it two or three seconds to start up.
  5. 5Select mode 1 (or whichever mode you want to begin with). The machine starts moving.
  6. 6Find your position. Most people use the machine freehand for the first few sessions, lying down or sitting. The device is designed to be held at an angle. Experiment a little and you will find what feels right quickly.
  7. 7Adjust from there. Too fast? Hold the minus button to slow it. Want more intensity? Move to mode 2 or 3. A different rhythm? Cycle through the modes.
  8. 8When you are done, switch off with a long press.
  9. 9Clean the sleeve. Rinse with warm water, apply a small amount of toy cleaner if you have it, rinse again and let it air dry with the machine open. The Autoblow cleaning guide goes into the full routine if you want it.

First sessions with a machine feel different from what you are used to. That is expected. Most people find the second and third session noticeably better as they figure out their preferred angle, speed and lube amount. Give it a few goes before deciding what you think of it.

Should you go online for your first session?

Short answer: not necessarily. The built-in offline modes are genuinely good and the machine works at full mechanical capability without any internet connection. If you just want to use the device and see what it does, the offline modes are the right place to start.

Online features to explore once you are ready:

  • The free film library. Hundreds of scenes that control the machine's rhythm for you. No subscription. Included with the device.
  • Video sync. Works with content you are already watching. The machine follows what is on screen.
  • AI companions. The AI drives the session rather than you cycling through modes manually.
  • Remote control. Hand control to a partner at a distance.

Connecting only takes five minutes and the guide on setting up Autoblow online walks through every step. You can do it now, later, or never, depending on what you want from the device.

If anything does not work as expected on your first use, reach out. Support is available in 10 languages including English, Dutch, German and French. Orders ship from the Netherlands, so the same team handling your question is the one that sent you the device.

Frequently asked questions

How do I use my Autoblow for the first time?+

Charge it fully first (about 90 minutes for the AI Ultra, 2 hours for the VacuGlide 2). Give the sleeve a quick rinse, apply a generous amount of water-based lube to the opening, switch on with a long press, and start with a slow mode. No app or internet connection needed for your first session.

Do I need Wi-Fi to use the Autoblow?+

No. Both the AI Ultra and the VacuGlide 2 work completely offline with their built-in modes. Wi-Fi is optional and only needed if you want the free film library, video sync, AI companions or remote control.

What lubricant should I use with my Autoblow?+

Water-based lubricant only. Never silicone, never oil, never lotion. Silicone and oil-based products degrade the sleeve material over time. Apply generously to the sleeve opening before use and reapply during longer sessions. Plain, unflavoured water-based lube is the safest option.

How long does the Autoblow battery last?+

Roughly 60 to 90 minutes of continuous use, depending on the mode and speed. Higher speed modes draw more power. A full charge from empty takes about 90 minutes on the AI Ultra and around 2 hours on the VacuGlide 2.

How do I insert and change the sleeve?+

The machine ships with a sleeve pre-installed. On the AI Ultra, the sleeve sits inside the central barrel and should be flush at both ends with no loose movement. On the VacuGlide 2, the sleeve is part of the suction chamber and secured by the vacuum cap. For a guide to all compatible sleeves, see the Autoblow sleeve guide on this site.

Which mode should I use for my first Autoblow session?+

Start with mode 1 or 2 on either machine. The lower modes let you feel what the device does and find the position and angle that works for you before moving to higher intensities. You can cycle through modes with the plus button and adjust speed by holding it.

How do I clean the Autoblow after use?+

Switch off and remove the sleeve if possible, rinse with warm water, apply a small amount of toy cleaner, rinse again and let it air dry with the machine open. Never submerge the main unit in water. The full cleaning routine is covered in the Autoblow cleaning guide on this site.

Is there a difference between getting started on the AI Ultra versus the VacuGlide 2?+

The charging, lube and offline-mode steps are the same on both. The main difference for first use is the VacuGlide 2 has separate suction controls in addition to the stroke controls, and its sleeve is secured by a vacuum cap rather than sitting inside a barrel. Start with low suction and a slow stroke mode to get used to both sensations separately before combining them.
